When we talk about confession, its not just about the words uttered from the mouth but essentially what happens in the heart before the confession is made.
So the bible says “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10
So from the very beginning of our Christian walk, we see that God made the principle of confession evident to us, that it is a heart thing.
For with the heart man believes, implying that before we even think of uttering a word of confession.
Its not so much about what is said but the state of the heart in relation to what is said, its very important you are first invested in believing with a ready commitment to do what is required to bring your confession to reality.
Confession are actually first and foremost a product of faith, its out not vice versa.
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; 2 Corinthians 4:13
This shows us that the first thing is the Spirit of faith, faith graduates till it becomes an intricately part of our Speech.
Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. Job 22:28
Its clearly seen that the words we speak have a Spiritual backing, it was same way God brought about Creation in Genesis. Its clear that our confession consists of our words and Jesus speaking said “the words that I speak they are Spirit and the Life.” Meaning the words we speak have the capacity and propensity to become reality, to come alive. Althrough scripture we find this truth written and used over and over again.
So starting today make it a goal to speak positively, make positive and spiritual confessions part of your daily life. Create the reality you want to see with the words of your mouth and let the words come from a firm and believing heart.
Remain a blessing…….
